On a bitterly cold weekend in January, I was browsing around a Greenwich Village thrift store with a friend before going to brunch at a nearby bistro. We came across a large black case filled with 16 x 20 color photographs.

There was a great deal of work inside. My friend, a collector of art for more than 30 years, looked at me and remarked "I've never seen anything like this." It appeared the imagery was from Southeast Asia, Thailand, Hong Kong, etc. Luckily he was strong enough to carry the heavy case and we instantly became a party of 3 at brunch.
Once we returned back to my apartment we began to carefully sort through some of the photographs.
This batch is the first 122. We guessed there are probably more than 350 here.

This batch has yet to be archived.
Intrigued, we continued on our hunt that weekend. More clues started showing up:
This stamp appears on the back of some of the prints:
Then this shipping label
Dated September 7, 1972
Then, that same week, more of these 16 x 20 photographs popped up.
These were matted, on boards, signed both "M Jaffe" & "E Jaffe"
I knew I had to find out more.
Google, here I come.
...to be continued.
